a little about me

I began my career in Real Estate through a simple bend of circumstance. As someone who loves numbers, my plan after high school was to become an accountant. I was on my way to beginning my accounting degree in the fall of 1996 but soon arrived at an unexpected fork in the road.  My mother, who owned a real estate company in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, had her accountant quit on short notice. She asked if I could cover until she found a replacement. I agreed, and twenty five years later here I am, still with Century 21 Westcountry! Over the course of my career I have had the opportunity to work in the capacities of office accountant, administrator, realtor, and acting manager, and am now proud to have entered the challenging world of broker / owner.

My mother always demonstrated the importance of giving back to the industry from which we benefit. She is an amazing role model and I am proud to have learned from her what it means to belong to this business, and the value and meaning of active participation in the real estate community. At the present moment, one crucial aspect of this active participation is, in my view, recognizing the responsibility to contribute to and to harness the inevitable changes that arise within our industry and our communities, large and small.

As realtors we work in ever changing times, and it seems that this is especially true today. Increasingly connected to the entire world, our tools, our tech and the way that we do business have had to shift, becoming stronger and faster, more adaptable and flexible. My hope is to be part of the team that helps steer industry change in directions that will benefit our members and our clients, and to try to make this change as painless as possible. I embrace the technology that has supported and altered our jobs so drastically over the past twenty five years, but I still see and understand that the real core value of our industry is our realtors.
